On March 15, 2025, Hegang Steel officially launched its S550GD+Z high-strength galvanized steel sheet in Urumqi, designed for extreme environments. This product utilizes a niobium-titanium microalloyed substrate and ZM Ecoprotect® coating technology, achieving a yield strength of 550-800 MPa (twice that of conventional galvanized steel sheet) and salt spray corrosion resistance exceeding 1,000 hours (ISO 9227 certified). In field tests at the Bukhara photovoltaic power station in Uzbekistan, its textured embossed surface increased the wind load resistance of the support to 35 m/s and improved the installation friction coefficient by 40%. This material has been used in 23 photovoltaic and logistics warehousing projects in Central Asia, with a monthly production capacity of 12,000 tons.
